so disappointing, I inquired about a listing in the Bahamas without confirming booking, and the host responded with a question, not confirming the booking, but simply letting us know that it might be an option for the dates that I entered, and next thing I know without a confirmation From Airbnb or the host, I saw that my credit card was being charged… airbnb is investigating and they say they are pursuing the host… the host has not responded and the host has my payment and has not refunded it. This is beyond disappointing and borderline fraudulent, I never gave the host or Airbnb the authorization to charge my card. In fact, I can’t believe they even had my card, but they must’ve had it from a previous booking…

When you say the host had your card details from a previous booking, did you supply thid directly to the host?

As Airbnb hosts we don't receive our guests' card details at all, so even if you previously booked with this host through Airbnb, he will not have your details. Did you previously book in a different way or on another platform?
