Fridda House Atocha Madrid

Beware! The owner of this property is a scammer. After booking he called me demanding more money. Then, just two hours before my arrival, after asking for my ID, he refused to let me enter—causing me to lose the €480 I had already paid.

He specifically requested my NIE (a foreigner identification number), which can appear on either a certificate or a card. I provided the certificate, which is equally valid and easily verifiable online. Despite this, I even went the extra mile by offering to send a copy of my passport—the most universally accepted form of identification. Shockingly, the owner still refused, making it clear that his actions were completely unreasonable and likely malicious.

Avoid this property at all costs!

Hello @Cristina3822 👋

I'm really sorry to hear about your recent experience. I wondered if you reached out to Airbnb at the time to discuss what happened with them?

If so, what was the outcome of the conversation? Looking forward to hearing from you!

If the host refused to let you into the property when you had provided suitable ID I would suggest you contact Airbnb and ask them for a refund and help to find suitable alternative accommodation @Cristina3822

I'm sorry you had this awful experience.
