Funeral and refusal to refund

I booked a trip and my grandfather ended up passing away

the host said due to air bnb policy they cannot refund me at all

I called support and was told they also cannot refund me

i am in the process of funeral arrangements does anyone know what I should do

or just accept the loss right now 

im tired and it’s hard to argue or fight for this right now

should I just contact my bank or is there anyone I can talk to about this
