We furnished ours from local antique stores, "junk shops," and consignment stores. I built the headboard for the bed from the 75-year-old door from an upstairs closet, and turned a vintage kerosene heater into a floor lamp and end table. We bought a Chippendale style chair from an antique store for $60 and now figure I should get it appraised because the construction of it seems older than the 100 years we thought. I picked up a handmade fireplace mantel for another room from a private seller on Facebook for $175. It was made before 1900. These stores and auctions are gold mines, especially if you're a bit handy and creative.
