Just wanted to alert everyone that AirBnB's sync with external calendars is MESSED UP. Some users report problems with Outlook, my problem is with Google Calendar. Reservation end days are shown one day to soon. A fellow host posted about this in 2023 and was told it wasn't AirBnB's problem which I find hard to believe when both Outlook and Google Calendar are doing the same thing. AirBnB - PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. For some of us SuperHosts who have multiple properties on multiple platforms, this is UNACCEPTABLE.
Here is the previous post from 2023:
Below are four screen shots. The first is my Google Calendar which is shown calendar syncing for two properties - the red is an AirBnB listing (check out is on the 17th) and the blue is a VRBO property both synced with Google Calendar. I have circled two example of SAME DAY check-out and a check-in (I call those hot-swaps). On the Google Calendar, notice the Red (AirBnB) booking ends ON THE 16TH with a visible gap- THIS IS WRONG. The second shot is the AirBnB calendar screen shot which CORRECTLY shows the check-out happening on the 17th. The third picture shows the VRBO calendar for a different property that also has a hot-swap on the 27th. Notice the Google Calendar shows this CORRECTLY.
Lastly I am including a fourth screen shot which shows the details of the AirBnB booking on the Google Calendar. Notice the end date on the 16th is WRONG!
Totally agree with you, Airbnb make difficult for hosted, lately, Airbnb don't think about us.
Hello @Steven1975 👋
We had a thread previously about this same topic - Syncing calendar to Google off by a day.
We heard back from the Airbnb support team who advised:
When exporting the calendars, we do not mark the checkout date as a 'busy' day as that would make the checkout date unavailable for booking on partner platforms. This means when an Airbnb calendar is exported the reservation may appear one day short on the calendar it was exported to.
Thanks to the ongoing feedback, Airbnb have also requested an update on the Help Center article: Sync your Airbnb calendar to other websites to ensure clarity in the future. 😊
I hope this helps.
Thanks @Rebecca, its good to know AirBnB is aware of this issue but to call it a feature? I don't agree with that. Purposely providing the wrong date is an unusual and confusing thing to do- and I would guess that not too many of us read the help articles. Why not offer us an option to export the end date properly to Google Calendar? Can't be too hard to do and it would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks for your ongoing feedback @Steven1975 and I understand your frustration. Whilst I can pass this back to the Airbnb team from my end, it's always great to submit feedback through the official feedback page: Share your feedback.
