Hi @Nosipho6
There are some countries where ID is required by law when checking in, and some countries where it seems to be somewhat customary to ask for ID. I've never stayed at an Airbnb in South Africa where the ID of every guest in the group was required, but I'm sure that doesn't mean that it's completely unheard of. There are hotels in SA that sometimes ask for ID (although, if you don't have any, they tend to just say "OK no problem", so I'm not sure what the point is 😀)
Your apartment seems to be in a secure building, does the building perhaps require ID? Have you thought about a way to collect the documents before arrival (I see you use lockbox check-in)?
If you do decide to ask for ID, I'd advise making this clear to your guests in advance (in your listing) as it may perhaps be something guests are not used to.
Hopefully you also get some responses from hosts who do require ID, who can explain to you the risks that you would be addressing by having all of the guest details on file.
