I really had a very bad experience as a host. Today I got a booking for 4 adults at around 11.30 pm. I called him & told to whatsapp id proofs of all guests before check in. He said it was late night and he would share the id proofs after checking in & freshing up. After few minutes I checked the CCTV footage. 6 adults & 1 kid has checked in. I called him asked how many of them were there ? he said only 4. When I mentioned about the CCTV he was like — oh bro they have a CCTV !! And he handed over the phone to other guest. Later he agreed & he said he mistakenly booked for 4 members. Then I asked him to pay extra fees. They were not ready to pay. They said they have booked an entire house so the number of members shouldn’t matter. I asked them to check out immediately. I had to drive to the place in midnight to have them check. After me reaching there and informing them to move out, they said they will pay. But I wasn’t comfortable hosting them since I found them suspectfull & didn’t want any complicated later. After a lot of arguments they moved out 🙏🏻
Hello @Lahari2 👋
Thanks for sharing this here with the Community Center. Hopefully your experiences since have been positive?
You were right!
I'm sorry you had this experience. I would never accept such a last minute booking particularly so late at night.
And if my country required ID I certainly wouldn't let guests check in without providing it.
hopefully you've left an honest review to warn your fellow hosts ?
