A guest wanted to book our AirBnB accomodation in Rome for a long period, 11 months. I reduced the price, and made an offer on a daily rate basis through AirBnB app. The guest was also told the rate through AiRBnB message board.
The guest checked in (on 31/01/2010), and I was looking for first payment.
But to my horror we found out that the daily rate was put as the payment for the whole 11 month, making the 60 sq.m. space available to them at 9 cents per day: fully furnished, TV, washing machine etc etc etc.
The guest could not be contacted; they disappeared after leaving their luggage. I have not seen the person since the first day (three days ago).
I called AiR BnB to put the pricing right, or cancel the contract. AirBnB managed to contact the person, who said that he is sick and he is in a hospital. Later, this evening 3 Feb 2020, his partner and another person came with more luggage, and I talk to them. They fisrst said that they played tennis together this afternoon, and later said that he is in a hospital and he will be released tomorrow.
We asked AirBnB to cancel the contract, as ghe guest's story seems a bit suspicious and dodgy. AirBnB is still waiting for more info from the Guest. Any suggestion from the community how we should proceed in this case, to end the contract?
