Does anybody else feel like guests can just make up anything they want and air bnb won’t remove a bad review. No matter how false the review.

Yes, you're definitely not alone — many hosts have faced similar frustrations. It can feel incredibly unfair when a guest leaves a review that’s exaggerated, misleading, or completely untrue, and Airbnb still won’t remove it. Unfortunately, unless the review clearly violates Airbnb’s Review Policy (for example: discriminatory, irrelevant, or includes threats), they usually won’t take it down, even with evidence.

One thing that can help is writing a calm, professional public response to the review. This gives future guests your side of the story and helps preserve your reputation.

You can also:

Report the review through the Resolution Center and reference the specific parts of Airbnb’s policy you believe it violates.

Contact Airbnb Support directly, and if possible, speak to a supervisor to escalate the issue.

It's definitely one of the more challenging parts of hosting, but keep focusing on delivering great experiences — over time, consistent positive reviews will outweigh the occasional unfair one.
