Guest's Excessive Laundry Habits

I rent my house for 31 days or longer.  I've got a weird question and don't know how to handle it in my House Rules. The current guests have been here 3 months. (Mom, Dad, 17 yr old daughter and a Chihuahua). My laundry facility consists of a brand new stacking w/d on the back porch. They do a minimum of 3 loads of laundry EVERY SINGLE DAY! This morning, they started at 6 AM! I was actually awakened by the sound of their laundry habit this morning. It is truly excessive both in terms of using resources, wearing out my appliances, and the disturbing close neighbors.

How do you all address the use of water (we struggle with constant drought here in California) and the overuse of washer and dryer as well as the inconsiderate practice that impacts neighbors? I want my guests to stay and enjoy themselves, but how do I encourage guests to be mindful about something like laundry?

I would speak to your guests to get an understanding of why they are having three loads of washing a day @Patrikya0 You are correct it is completely excessive.

In my house rules I have that guests can do one laundry load every five days for personal items and one load every five days for beddings/towels.

Do you have quiet time house rules in your listing. If so, reinforce that laundry needs to be done outside the quiet time you have on your listing.

I've also had a problem with guest using my laundry excessively.

I sat up a system that only allows them a certain duration each day to do laundry. They initiate the time by sending a text to a phone number.  Once the text is received by the system the laundry is made available but only for a predetermined duration.

It is all automated but I can override if needed

If you would like to know the specifics on the system please reply.

Hello @Jerry538 , would love to know about your system.

 Thank You
