Guest snuck in dog - Lied about being service dog

We have a very strict no animal policy that is clear in our house rules. We had a guest (who is sadly a fellow host) who snuck in her dog during her stay. We confronted her and demanded an extra cleaning fee which she refused to pay for it. In her bio it clearly talks about said dog that she loves to travel with, but in her messages told us it was her dad's dog. Conveniently, shortly after this ordeal she deleted the portion of her bio that talks about the dog. Either way AirBNB asked for her to pay us the cleaning fee to where she changed her story to where the dog is a service animal.

According to AirBNB's Accessibility Policy:

A guests service dog must not:

  • Allowed in a public space without being harnessed, leashed, or tethered and not under the guest’s control

https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1869/accessibility-policy

We have multiple video evidence of them letting the dog out the front door unleashed/tethered/harnessed/D. All of the above and leave the dog unattended. So the "service animal" was just roaming around our front yard unattended and untethered. She tried to report us for video surveillance to which we discussed with AirBNB that it is from our Ring doorbells that is disclosed in our listing which AirBNB told us that is allowed.

Has anyone else experienced this type of situation before? I'm appalled that a host would treat another host this way and blatantly lie. We've been talking with AirBNB trying to get this resolved and so far no luck. Any advice?

@Madi259   Personally I would just let it go.  Yes, this guest did behave badly and yes she was sneaky, but as soon as the words ‘Service Animal’ are mentioned you really stand a next to zero chance of either a pet fee or extra cleaning fees.

Unfortunately, as a Host herself, she will most likely be well aware of what she can get away with, and by complaining about your disclosed cameras was really being vindictive in my opinion as many hosts, even when they are disclosed on their listing, do get suspended pending investigation if a guest complains.

I suspect the best you can do here is to leave a polite, calm and professional review regarding your experience with her to warn future hosts and try to then put this experience behind you.

I refuse to host Hosts.  Never have I had a good experience with them sadly.
