My guest texted me yesterday asking extra people to come spend the night with her. That will go over the limit number of guest therefore i moved the conversation to Airbnb platform for clarity and honesty. Especially when she checked in to be there alone but brought someone with her and didn't disclose. Until when she requested extra guests to come stay with her overnight that's when I explained to her the cameras recorded everything. When I requested for her to send me names and age of the guests, she's expecting to update reservation, she responded they have changed their minds and not coming anymore. I have been very busy throughout the day, i just checked the camera in the front door it's been disconnected. How do I approach the guest about this? She doesn't have any review under her profile. She leaves Friday.

I had 4 switches in the living room, I believe she was looking to switch on either the outside light or the living room hallway light and ended up switching all off and on until she got the one she needed. That's how she turned off the camera unknowingly. Now to clarify, I have left a note attached that particular switch not to touch it. Hopefully, we will not have that concern anymore. Thank you for your concern.
@Gifty5 There is very little you can do. Remain silent until the guest leaves and then leave an honest review of her behaviour. If she then reviews you within the 14 days you can then claim for her extra guests.
You message her through Airbnb (presuming you have displayed the cameras on your listing in accordance with Airbnb T&C ) and tell her the camera needs to be turned on. And text her too.
tell her if they are not turned back on the booking will need to be cancelled .
Just had to do this recently.
Hi @Gifty5 ,
Did you ask the guest to turn on the Camera as Helen suggested? Or decided to leave an honest review for this guest?
Do keep us posted on how it unfolded with the guest.

Hi @Gifty5 ,
Leaving a note on the switch looks like a good idea.
Thank you for sharing with us about what happened! I am glad to know that it was just a misunderstanding.
Toggle switch plate cover. I put these on all switches I don’t want turned off.
Hi @Gifty5 !
Thanks for sharing this experience. As a new host, it gives me an idea of what to expect from the guests: it can be great or not-so-great behaviors. I'm learning every day. Because one would think that a person staying in your home would be well behaved... I hope that you both get a good ending!
