'Guests' overall rating

Can anyone help clarify please?

I notice on guests ratings, which you can only find through your inbox when you click on details for the booking, that they have 4 options, Overall Rating, Cleanliness, Communication and Observance of House Rules. Whenever I do a review for a guest, I don't get the option to leave an overall rating so I"m wondering how Airbnb work this out.

I just called and spoke to one of the team and she said that all the other hosts that she's spoken to get the option to leave an overall rating lol, so I'm the only host, (hosting since Nov 2017 with 521 reviews to date) that doesn't get the option to leave an overall star rating for a guest when I do their review. I'm finding this hard to believe but stranger things have been known lol.  She's going to speak to the technical team to see why I haven't had that option for the past 6 years.

Below are 2 screen shots, one of the guests star rating and another of the options I get to review a guest. With the options I get to review, after I've clicked the stars, the next step is a public note, then a private note to the guest, the last step is to answer yes or no if I would host the guest again and that's it. I never get the option to leave an overall star rating.

Do all you other hosts get the option to leave a star rating for a guest? I'd appreciate any feedback thank you.

@Jackie237   I have never been able to leave an overall rating for a guest either… However, I suspect that this is a bit redundant with regards to Hosts reviews for guests.

A guest may accurately and honestly leave five stars for a host in all categories but only four stars overall for a number of reasons.. such as the bed not being comfortable enough,  not enough pans supplied etc.  Essentially for something that there is no category for.

Thanks for your reply, I did think to myself surely I can't be the only host.

@Jackie237 there is no overall rating for a guest. The cynic in me says this is because it makes it easier for a guest to get to a higher rating. This is exacerbated by the fact that guests are only rated to 1 decimal place so it is much easier for them to recover to a 5.

@Mike-And-Jane0  Thanks, I thought so. I don't think the Airbnb team are allowed to say if they don't know the answer to a question and the one that helped me didn't know what she was talking about.

I have noticed that a couple of my guests leave 5 stars in all categories but then there is an overall rating of 4.  Doesn’t make sense. Do guests have and option for “overall rating?”
As a host I don’t have an option for “overall rating”

I’ve been a superhost for 4 consecutive terms. Will guest “overall ratings” reduce our rating? Even though they have praise and gave 5 stars in all categories?
is it an algorithm by ABB?
