Host Violence

Our AirBnb in Lyon was canceled due to loud noise and we were waiting for a status of our refund. The host and her goon kicked in the door and assaulted my son and his girlfriend. AirBnb safety team has done nothing before during and after the assault. They knew violence was impending and did not care to resolve the refund issue. Of course the French police didnt care about the assault and escorted my son out because he wasnt French. I know there are alot of horror stories about guests but believe me there are nightmare hosts whcih people seem to avoid and there is zero protection for you as a tenant. AirBNB can simply cancel your stay and say leave immediately. And they blocked the account so we couldnt book a new one. I think Airbnb should be ashamed of themselves fo the lack of caring ad support and I wish I had the means to sue them for the assault since they could have prevented it.

@Christopher1786 realistically, other than telling you to leave, what could Airbnb have done?

Do I understand correctly that your son and his girlfriend made loud noise? And that this was the reason their stay was canceled?

If that's the case, they had no reason to stay to wait for their refund.
I cannot judge the situation as to whether the noise complaint was justified. But usually, a guest's stay is not terminated without cause.

Did your son and his girlfriend make loud noise at the listing causing the host to ask Airbnb to cancel his booking. If so he should have left the property . @Christopher1786

What exactly are suggesting are ways in which Airbnb could have prevented the host from allegedly attacking your son and girlfriend?

if your son and his girlfriend were being excessively loud at the listing Airbnb can suspend his profile and not allow him to use the platform.

Why is the refund relevant ?
