Host asks for a copy of passport in Qatar

I have a reservation in Qatar and the host has asked for a copy of my passport (state/governmental reasons).

Is there any regulation that indicates passport registration? Thanks.

I see you posted awhile ago but wanted to check in and see if you found the answer to your question? This may be one to check the local government regulations about directly.

Lots of countries require guests to provide photo ID as a legal requirement @Ömer55 (including your own).

you should be able to find out on your government embassy site about requirements for Qatar
