Hosting during an eviction Moratorium

Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone may have experienced issues of guests refusing to leave during the eviction moratorium.

I would like to know if you had any such experience or if you have any recommendations or advice.

My listing is in California and I get enquiries from locals requesting to stay for a "change of air" and I don't feel good about it.

Any comments appreciated.

Rose.

It appears that the moratorium is for residential rental properties, but not for short term vacation rental or sharing properties.   If you are concerned that you will get stuck  by some unscrupulous guest, don’t rent until the moratorium and associated policies have been revoked or lifted.

Thanks Lorna.

@Rose422

I can appreciate your concern! Has this happened to anyone you know? The law is surely as @Lorna170  conveys but its a real consideration! Thanks for raising x

Thanks Mary,

I had to check with airbnb and they mentioned it is possible to hold the guest financially responsible if they wish to take advantage of the eviction moratorium (up to June 2021 in CA).

Take care
