I have an upcoming booking for a two-day stay. The parents were coming to our town for a college family event. The event has been canceled, and my guest will only receive a partial refund. Is there anything I can do to get her a 100% refund? I prefer not to go through the resolution center - I don’t want this to show as earnings on my part.

@Lisa7895 call airbnb and ask them for a penalty free cancellation as the guest wants to cancel. Make sure your guest has asked to cancel on the Airbnb message system and you should be fine.

Thank you so much for the suggestion, @Mike-And-Jane0 🙏
@Lisa7895 please keep us posted once you’re able to contact the support team, and let us know how everything goes.
Regards,
@Lisa7895 you actually DO want it to go through the resolution center/support.
Scenario 1: You get the payout, you refund in full- net zero- all through support
Scenario 2: You go through support to cancel the reservation prior to payout- no payout- net zero
Any time you do a refund through the resolution center- any amount- it shows as a reduction in earnings on the AirBnB platform.
Kia,
I just had to cancel our guest arriving Saturday due to a huge storm we just had and no power currently. Another storm is arriving tomorrow as well. High winds throughout our community. From Seattle up to our cabin/listing in the mountains.
The Airbnb person helping me said without proof they are going to charge us over $350 for the cancellation. I requested a full refund for the guest for the original booking and now I'm being charged because I can't show proof. She said I need to make a news clipping of the storm and we don't even have local news. I am going to cancel all remaining bookings and remove our listing. We have had wonderful guests and we have been awarded Super Host twice. I never could have imagined Airbnb support would be of no support. I hope to reach other hosts so they don't experience this as well. Do you have any suggestions?
