I believe you can only have one profile at a time on Airbnb. If you no longer had access to the phone number on the original account, you could have tried logging in using your email address instead (or any of the other ways to login). Did you try logging into your old account using your email address?
At this point, you'll have to contact Airbnb to resolve this; especially if you want to retain your previous reviews. They will probably require you delete the new account you created and you'll have to work with them to gain access to the old account.
