I'm a newbie, hosting for 7 months. I've had maybe 4 last minute booking requests, some even want an early check in. Those experiences have prompted me to get the space ready IMMEDIATELY upon a guest checking out, no matter what my calendar looks like.

My Settings are for bookings at least a day before. If my calendar is empty after a guest leaves I make sure I get most of the clean done the day guests leave so that if someone books last minute for the next day I’m mostly ready, if that makes sense. I don’t do same day bookings as I need the time to have my place looking its best each time.
If it's a very last minute booking and you can’t possibly have your place ready by the normal checkin time, simply ask the guests if they are happy for a later checkin since it was last minute.

i briefly tried same day turnaround. It’s too hectic for me. So mostly I’ve always done one day turnaround. I’ve hardly had any last minute bookings. If I can’t possibly have been ready I simply don’t accept the last minute. booking. I like to be accommodating where I can but not to the enth degree.
