How to change the language of the receipt

Hello everyone,

 

I have tried countless methods, but the receipts generated by Airbnb are always in Chinese. Customer service told me that once a receipt is generated, the language cannot be changed anymore. This is ridiculous.

 

I modified my global settings as instructed, but no matter whether I set it to German or English, all my new bills are still in Chinese. Could you please tell me how to change the language of the bills?

I'm just checking - is this where you changed the language? Website menu "Language and Translation"?

Yes, as shown in the image below, I have modified all the parts that can be changed, but the invoice generated by Airbnb is still in Chinese. This is true even for the most recent invoice.

I got an English version receipt from my friend, and then used a PDF editor to translate my receipt based on it. This is the solution I've found for now. Anyway, it's really stupid that Airbnb's receipt system doesn't allow language changes....

I was wondering, did you follow those steps?


To change the language of the Airbnb receipt:

  • Log in to your Airbnb account.
  • Go to the "Account" or "Profile" section.
  • Look for the "Receipts" or "Transaction History" tab.
  • Find the specific receipt you want to change the language for.
  • Look for an option or settings icon that allows you to modify the language.
  • Select your desired language from the available options.
  • Save the changes.

I tried contacting Airbnb customer service, and they said once a receipt is generated, the language cannot be changed anymore. The problem is that I've set everything that can be set to German, but new invoices are still in Chinese.

 

To be honest, I'm going crazy with these receipts, and I don't know if my insurance company will accept these translated receipts...

This is a very old problem, and Airbnb has not bothered to implement a proper solution.

Yes, this troubles me greatly, especially for business travelers who need to visit other countries. The inability to change the invoice language is truly a disaster and creates many obstacles for reimbursement. I think Airbnb probably doesn't care about losing customers over this issue. In any case, I'll choose other websites/APP to book room next time.

Are you having an issue with a particular company?  I consulted for many years a long time ago for a top medical insurance company in the U.S.  Members often went to foreign countries and came home with various medical receipts.  We did not accept translated receipts.  I am old enough that there wasn't easy access to translation software.  Many people have Chinese or Japanese doctor bill they paid.  As a company we just had a standard practice.

I am currently experiencing the same issue. I reached out to customer support, but they were completely unhelpful! It seems like Airbnb is aware of the problem but simply doesn’t care. I genuinely can’t understand why Airbnb cannot address something as simple as allowing users to change the language on receipts.
If anyone from Airbnb happens to see this, I want to say: "I'm sorry," "I apologize," and "I understand" are not solutions—they don't help at all! Your job is to resolve these issues and provide a better experience for your customers.  You guys should not make your customer to complain here !
