How to credit guest after settlement has been received.

My housekeeper missed the cleaning date and did not have the house clean prior to guest arrival. How can I credit back the $150 cleaning fee once settlement has been deposited?  I would prefer giving them credit against their credit card, if possible.

Go to the reservation details and click "Send or Request Money"

Why would you want to do that any refunds should be made through the Airbnb platform so there is a record @Eric8810 

@Helen3 Sorry, my statement was confusing.  Let me restate...  I want to credit the $150 (to their credit card) via the AirBnB app, but I cannot figure out how.  Is there a way to credit the $150 back to the client via the app even after the settlement has been sent to my bank?  Thanks!

Hi @Eric8810 

On the app, click the reservation. You'll see just above the "message" button there's a "send or request money" option. When you click it, you have an option to send an amount of money of your choice. The guest will have to click "accept" to receive it. It usually works very well.

Has this guest reviewed you, or are you still inside the review period and waiting for a review? I'm asking because a missed cleaning could also mean the beds had been slept in and the towels not changed.  It's possible that they may be unhappy with just a cleaning fee refund, but I don't know what the conversation with your guest was. In any case, you can follow the refund procedure described above.
