You asked the question: "How to get more bookings"? While I have found that bookings cannot be predicted, they just present themselves.
But I do have some suggestions as to increasing your chances of your place getting booked over someone with an Airbnb a few blocks away. A lot of times it has to do with how your listing is presented. I have found I am interested in booking a place with a listing that really provides details and tells a bit of a story.
That is how I wrote my listing, and our guest often comment that they enjoyed reading about the details of our home.
I suggest you look at other listings near yours and see what they wrote, and how they wrote it. It may give you ideas as to how to improve your description.
