I think I have met the epitome of the entitled guest.

I have been busy telling others what great guests we have had this year, and all of a sudden this comes along.

It wasn't an Airbnb request so I can decline it without fear of retaliatory action!

I know it's every travelers duty to try and strike the best bargain they can, but I can't ever recall getting a booking request with quite this many demands/requests before.

This was one of the easiest hosting decisions I have ever had to make!

Cheers.........Rob

Welcome to the real world, Rob. 🙄

(Although this one is a dandy!) Hall of Famer?

@Elaine701

Elaine, I did have one other a few years ago that was even more 'in yr face' as this request was, and I handled that one a bit differently........

Classic pre-approval.png

Within 5 minutes I got a notification....'Stay not Possible'!........

Mission accomplished!

I know that is an incredibly rude way to respond to what may be fair requests but I was aware at the time that this exact guest had made the same request to a number of hosts across the country and not one of them actually got a booking....so I felt it was time to call Cliff's bluff!

Cheers........Rob

Hahahaha @Robin4! You've posted this before, but thanks for the reminder. Classic!

@Robin4  I like your helpful advice for new hosts on how to deal with issues to maybe to  expect in the future. Laughter is the best medicine and I have had my dose for the day.

I leave my guests a wee basket with miniatures of local gin, local whisky, local handmade soap, local fudge and cookies and postcards with a drawing of our cottage. Not one single guest has ever thanked me, or even commented.

@Fiona256   That's pretty well how many guests are these days, Fiona.  So many people have no idea what we hosts have to put up with.  Best to you, Fiona.   Anthony

@Anthony223   As Sarah so aptly put it: total self-absorption with zero sense of self-awareness.

Scotland and Inverness in particular are on our wish list for travel in next two years, @Fiona256--will make a note about your lovely places!  M.E.

@Scott-and-Mary-Ellen0 I would be pleased to welcome you to Inverness and/or the Isle of Skye.

Well thank you for sharing and providing those treats for guests!

I left some beer in the fridge water (8 bottle), snacks, how about the guests drink it all (and the beer was left by previous guests and some I provided so they could have a taste of our local brew.  Needless to say, if you leave it in unit it is fair game.  Oh yes, no thanks at all 😞
