I recently had a guest book same day for a four night stay. We had two other rooms booked during this time in our split stand...

I love the presumptuous of the format. My check-in is at four. Even with my paid early check-in option, I cannot check anybody in at noon. There is not a hotel that will just check someone in at noon. This is instant book, not even a question before making a reservation
@Inna22 I assume you've checked your check-in settings to make sure they haven't "mysteriously" reverted to flexible?
What I'd want to respond is "Not sure where you are planning to check in at noon, but it won't be here, as my stated check-in time is after 4pm. What else didn't you bother reading in my listing info before booking?"
@Inna22 these types I tend to go with some feigned helpful shock: "oh dear, did you possibly get confused about what you were booking, because our checkin time starts at 4pm, not noon? please let me know how I can assist!"
Well. Yah. Probably so. And actually, you know. They’re just following the flow of what ABB tells them… “tell your host when you’re coming.” “Tell your host if you’re traveling with more than 2 pets”. “Tell your host what else you need”
tell. tell. tell.
ABB should learn a new verb. ASK.
i'm terrible at this fake/nice thing, so will copy this one! I'm usually ready to start throwing the salt around, on what **bleep** planet does anything announce what time they'll be checking in? We get it all the time, in fact today 2 out of our 3 groups announced they'd be arriving early. And we had 3 turnovers to do.
"bless you heart" haha, i'm Australian but thanks to youtube i know exactly what that means! 😆 love it.
I have seen this trend going up in the past year or so. I would assume it was because of some changes on the website that Airbnb made in the past 1-2 years, that makes the check in time not apparant to guests. Everytime I had to message the guest about the check in time and ask if they are OK with it.
@Nanxing0 I have it as plain text in my description that there is an early check-in option at one and a fee for that. Logically, if you have to pay to check in at one, you cannot check in at noon. This would assume that the guest bothered to read my description
@Inna22 That is the issue. I suspect that those recent changes by Airbnb for the website has made those house rules less visible so more guests are ignoring it.
