Impossible to add notes to my calendar

With this new release, I can't add notes to my calendar.

I need to be able to add notes to any dates of my calendar (on reserved dates with Airbnb or with another application, on blocked dates, on open dates). And I need to see and modify notes in the past or in future dates.

All this doesn't work.

Hi @Julien1394,

You're absolutely right — the ability to add and view custom notes on the calendar is such a critical tool for hosts, especially those managing multiple channels or personal scheduling. Removing or limiting that functionality in the latest release is a huge step backward.

Like you, many hosts rely on calendar notes to track things like:

Maintenance days

Owner use or personal stays

External bookings (not through Airbnb)

Follow-up reminders or special guest requests

The inability to add notes to blocked or past dates, or to edit existing ones, severely impacts how we manage our operations.

As @Joan2709 mentioned, I encourage you to post your feedback directly in the Summer 2025 Release Q&A thread. Airbnb has said they’re monitoring that discussion for real-time product feedback. Here's the link again:

Hopefully, with more voices raising this issue, Airbnb will prioritize restoring (or improving) this vital feature in an upcoming update.

Thanks for speaking up — it helps all of us.

Yes, I found this out too!  I have asked support and still waiting for them to respond.
Why can't they just leave well enough alone,  smh

I know what you mean. I wish they would leave well enough alone!

I have just made an inquiry/complaint about same thing.  An attempt at taking more control over blocked dates that don't lead to generating Airbnb bookings. Very frustrating.

I was able to add notes to my calendar by using the app version on my desktop, not the website but the desktop app. I am on a MacBook Air.

Mine too, soooo frustrating. I've called four times in the last week and each time they act like they have no idea what I'm talking about, make me either describe the problem over and over or do a screen share and show it to them, then they tell me that everyone's having this problem and that they're working hard to fix it. Poor testing Notes pretty key feature !

Yup...recent release messed up notes.

In the meantime, you can turn on Professional Hosting Tools and use the multicalendar to add/edit notes as a workaround until it's fixed. All Hosts can use Professional Hosting Tools even if you only have one listing. The multicalendar is only available on a desktop though; can't use in the App:

Hi Joan,

Can you feedback to the tech team that the fix should address the requirement :

- notes are visible read only for historic entries

- notes are editable for current and upcoming entries

This should be the case in the multi calendar (the professional view works), the simple calendar on all devices.

We have been using notes to for example to log who cleaned, if a deep clean was done, if a day was blocked out the reason etc.  Currently my cleaning team can update this on phones etc.

Its a real nightmare for us this bug!

@Tom4964

Agree it is a mess 😡

Airbnb is aware, just not sure it will be fixed any time soon.

Yes, that feature seemed to have disappeared. A useful tool when managing multiply calendar.

I just spoke to an Airbnb agent (May 22, 2025), and she explained how I can add notes.

1. While you are in the Hosting mode, click on the 3 line hamberger on the right, and select "Account Settings"

> then select, "Professional Hosting Tools" at the bottom of the column on the left

> then, beside "Company", select "Manage"

> then click, "Professional Hosting Tools"

2. Now, look at the above menu and click "Host" and select "Calendar" from the drop-down menu.

3. You will see a new version of your calendar. Don't click out of it as this is the location where you would add your notes. Click on the date, or range of dates you want to add a note to, then a pop-up box comes up. At the bottom you will see where you can add your Private Note.

So they deprecated adding notes from the per-listing calendar, and call it a "new feature" that we now have to do it from the multi-calendar interface?  Booooooo.
