With this new release, I can't add notes to my calendar.
I need to be able to add notes to any dates of my calendar (on reserved dates with Airbnb or with another application, on blocked dates, on open dates). And I need to see and modify notes in the past or in future dates.
All this doesn't work.
Ive just updated my calendar/ airbnb app and now I find i can not add notes on who's coming as I have guests from multiple sites... its ridiculous 😒
Did you get any responses or fixes for this? The Q&A looks like it's closed, but I am having the exact same problem I want to report it.
I can't put notes in the calendar for cleaning and maintenance. It has caused problems for me, my guests, and my cleaning crew.
It seems to allow notes connected to a stay but not just to a calendar date.
I turned on the professional hosting but that did not seem to correct the problem.
You can only access the multicalendar when using Professional Hosting Tools from a desktop/laptop computer; not the App. Your cleaners will only be able to see notes added using the multicalendar on open or blocked dates on a laptop computer. They can't use the App on their phones until Airbnb fixes the issues (if they fix it).
Some Hosts have had to use a different calendar to add notes to (Google, Apple) and provide that to their cleaning staff, as most cleaners I know only carry a phone with them; not a laptop.
No, it doesn't work on computer. I work on Mac and tried different advice from hosts and nothing.
The multicalendar works on Macs.
I just discovered you can add a note on the multicalendar and it IS viewable in the App. Those Hosts who have cleaners and others who need to see notes in the App can do so. it's just you need to add the note in the multicalendar on a desktop. Then you can view in the App.
Thank you for taking the time to explain. Because neither the cleaners nor I could see what we needed to see on our phones.
And you're right they don't walk around with their laptops going from site to site.
I can quickly see a future where the secondary calendar is going to get out of sync even though they are linked. Because it doesn't appear to sync notes between the Airbnb calendar and google. It only transfers the reserved dates.
This is really causing unnecessary stress and risk.

The problem is that I don't use my laptop to put the notes in because things change rapidly.
If I have to wait until I get back to my house to put a note in via the laptop, it will still get confusing for people.
I need to make notes to the calendar via my mobile phone
A possible solution for everyone is a calendar service called Turncal I have been looking at. An Airbnb Host created it to share calendar info with cleaners. Basic service is free. Haven't tried it yet, but probably will. You use your ical link from Airbnb (Vrbo, booking.com) to add to the Turncal calendar to sync.
Per Chris Smith (the creator of the App):
Turncal.com
"The website works on mobile phones and you can add it to the Home Screen on your phone as a shortcut."
I created an account and added the shortcut to my Home screen on iPhone 14 and it works. Haven't synced any calendars yet, but I'm gonna test it.

I just now tried Turncal and didn't work very well. Sigh.
You can also try using a Google Calendar and sync your listings ical URL to the Google Calendar to add notes. Then share with cleaners etc.
There is another paid App called Breezeway, but that really is more for cleaners and maintenance scheduling and not necessarily notes like bookings from another platform, or blocking for personal use etc.
I have found that once you add the note on the multicalendar, it IS visible in the App on your phone, it just needs to be added using the multicalendar first.
***UPDATE
I just discovered you can add a note on the multicalendar and it IS viewable in the App and the regular calendar after you add it on the multicalendar.
Those Hosts who have cleaners and others who need to see notes in the App can do so. it's just you need to add the note in the multicalendar on a desktop/laptop. Then you can view in the App and the regular calendar.
I strongly agree
Did you sort it out yet?
