During my property search on Airbnb, I stumbled upon listings with photos that contain the host's phone number, email and company name, these info are printed onto the photos as watermarks, I checked the airbnb policies, and it appears at first that this is against its policy, but upon consulting with the support team, they informed me that and I quote :'please know that it is Host discretion to provide information to each photo they had on our platform, and there is no policy restricting Host to do this on their lisiting page.'
And in my case, the host not only did share their contact, when I called their number they also asked me to go to their Irvine office and provide my driver license and social security number for screening. I shared all this records (including a two-way consented recording with the host) with the airbnb team, nothing has happened so far.
Therefore I ask for clarity on this forum, is it OK for hosts to publish their contact to prospects?
Is it permitable for hosts(and Airbnb) to solicate bookings with the prospects by using the listing as a portal?
