Is my location a good one for an air B and B?

I live in Upper Lake CA. in the country in a nice 3 bedroom 2 bath home on 22 acres about 5 miles from down town.  I'd like to move but want to come home sometimes. I wondered how do I find out if this is a good location for and air B and B?

Nice area! Suggest you go to the county planning and zoning office to inquire if it is legal, and what is the ordinance governing any Short Term Rentals. Definitely  them what you are thinking. They should be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Please let us know what transpires!

After you visit the county, have a visit with your insurance agency, to find out about business insurance for this venture. You have a home and a good sized property to protect, and also the guests who would use it. The county and the insurance folks should advise you on what is important regarding health and public safety, fire concerns, etc.

As advised do check to see if there are any STR regulations in your area . Then you would have to carry out your own market research to estimate likely supply and demand for the sort of property you want to purchase and likely charge out rates @Lisa10499
