Hi Brad,
This appears to be a totally new listing. Checking the host's profile for verification badges, reviews, and detailed information can provide some insights; a sparse or recently created profile might signal a red flag. I manage to get the profile page of Host and it says verified for identity, email and phone: **
Comparing the Airbnb listing with those on other sites can also help identify inconsistencies, such as different photos, descriptions, or amenities, which might indicate authenticity concerns.
Messaging the host with specific questions is another effective approach, as a credible host is likely to respond promptly and provide thorough answers. Guest reviews, if available, can offer additional reassurance, showing patterns of positive or negative experiences.
Using Airbnb’s verification badge as a reference point can also add some assurance, as verified listings have gone through additional checks. If you continue to feel that something is off, reporting the listing to Airbnb for further investigation is a good option. With these steps, you can make a more informed decision about the listing’s legitimacy.
I hope this helps but please know that as a Host too, we can't confirm if the listing is 100% legitimate.
All the best,
Upfish Management
