Italy BnB swap

Hosts, we've been renting our tiny "Shack" here in the desert for several months now and I've got to say....people are gross!!! Seriously, grown adults are nastier than any of my kids or dogs. Yuck. So, I got thinking, what about swapping spaces with other hosts who are as clean, respectful and meticulous as me! Who has had experience swapping spaces with other hosts? Insights?

For years I've wanted to tour parts of Italy (Venice/Rome) and eat all day and appreciate the culture.  Is there anyone in Italy who would be open to hosting a US couple in exchange for us hosting you and a guest here in Southern Utah?

TIA

Use homeexchange.com

I have used their services since 2006
They specialised in exchanging homes.

Have you tried posting on one of the host swap groups on FB @Cathleen47

No idea whether hosts in Italy would find a swop to stay in your 'tiny shack ' attractive but these would be the best place to look.

I didn't know that was a thing. Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks! I will look into that, sounds interesting!

BTW @Bob297 , how would you say these homes compare to the ones on Airbnb? Do you feel many are listed for a nightly rental already? This might solve many issues!

Homeexchange is no rental. It's swapping houses.
It used to be one-on-one.
Nowadays you earn "points". You can use these points to go to another place in the world. It's more flexible, but I also liked the one-on-one. It's more personal, while the point exchange is more Airbnb-ish.
Most of the time, guests stay longer than a night. Otherwise, it's too much hassle to prepare your home.

We will use our points to stay a long weekend in Berlin.

A family of six from Peru will stay in our home for five days. We get points for that.

We stayed in their home about five years ago. That was their second home.
They saved the points to travel to Italy, and after that, they will come to us in The Netherlands.
We've done it 33 times mow.

That's really neat! Thank you!
