Late night showers

Hello, I have a tiny house with a shared bathroom, I’ve never had complaints for hosting, but the last few guests have all had showers about 11.30 12 at night and being extremely noisy. Would any of you ask them to be quieter of ignore, I don’t want to stop doing this but can’t go to work next day after being woken up.

@Nicola2231

You can set in your house rules "quiet hours between 22:00 and 7:00" (example)

That's what I do?

@Nicola2231  As a home-share host, there is no reason to ignore guest behavior which doesn't respect the fact that they don't have the whole place to themselves.

Be polite, easygoing and straightforward with guests when their behavior is disturbing, just as you would if a teenage relative was staying and oblivious of impacting others.

I agree with you.

I often had this problem when I first starting hosting. I had quiet hours after 11pm stated on my listing, but I think guests don't necessarily see late night showers as a noise disturbance. However, my bathrooms are above another guest room so that can actually be quite disruptive to the guest staying below. Worse, the guests who took late night showers would then start blow drying their hair, which you can hear in other bedrooms. Now, I actually state in my house rules that guests should not shower late at night. It works with most...

What happened Nicola? I found your post as my guest who left this morning took a BATH at 1:30 and a shower the following night at 1:30.
I pride myself on being accommodating and welcoming but the room is right next to my bedroom.
It’s not reasonable is it?

Hello @Kim189

Do you not have quiet hours as part of your house rules. If so, remind the guest that showers should only be taken between XXX and XXX hours.
