Hi @Minako10 I live in Québec City and wish you a very big welcome to our beautiful city in advance!
Here is a link to events happening in September: https://www.quebec-cite.com/fr/quoi-faire-quebec/calendrier-annuel-festivals-evenements
September is a beautiful and warm month in our town so come prepared to spend alot of time outdoors and on foot.
French is the main language here and I see you studied it. That's awesome! I would recommend reading a beautiful trilogy by Marie Laberge called "Le Goût du Bonheur" . This is a Québécois treasure.
I would check out airbnb.com for accommodation and would advise sticking to any listing near or within the walls of our city "Vieux Québec" or "Vieux Port"
Best of luck and feel free to reach out if you have specific questions!
@Minako10 Do you speak French? If so then be very careful. My wife spoke French to the border guards who then became increasingly irate when she didn't understand a word they were saying to her. Far better to have conversed in English rather than the rather strange French spoken in Quebec.
That said it is a wonderful place and I am sure you will enjoy your visit
Of course, I have been learned it since I got started in French at college in 2017.
I always listen to the international radio everywhere such as at home and restaurant and so on except for the workplace.
I'm able to understand the words, but I rarely meet french people in Japan.
I have to attempt to be training for speaking them.
For instance, I read the topics that is written in french with my voice,
watch the comedy show, be expressed in french extra.

@Minako10 well don't get worried when you hear Quebec's version of French - It is only remotely related to France's French!
If you are interested in the conversion of french version,
I also provide it in french for reading french people.
and "The free dictionary" is the best tool to learn English and other languages on the Internet.😊
Mike-And- Jane0 I have found that most Canadians speak both French and English , so throw yourself on their mercy early , apologise profusely , that in your ignorance you do not speak French and allow them to take pity on you . Works ... H
Hi @Minako10
I'm happy to see your post!
How are you?
I hope that you get some great ideas for your trip.
Jenny
@Minako10 I love Quebec but haven't been there in a long time - I hope to go back soon.
The French food is great, and the old city is charming. Just walk around and enjoy all of it.
I also visited the Plains of Abraham, which was a great historic site. The battle that took place there in the 1700s gave the British control of Canada. If the British hadn't won that single battle, everyone in North America might be speaking French to this day!
I'm interested in the historial story.
I knew that French and British peoples were coming to North America in modern times.
but I didn't know about it was happened in the war.
You spell out about Québec and I hope you can return to the city.😊
Hi @Minako10! Welcome back, and how have you been?
It's understandable that work can sometimes get a bit busy and leave little time for other activities 🙂
As for your working holiday in Québec, that sounds like an exciting adventure! Personally, I’ve never visited, but I would love to do so one day!
I know that @Bhumika lives in Canada, but not sure if she’s been to Québec. Perhaps she can give some tips? (If she has been there, of course) 👀
Hi @Quincy @Minako10 ,
As I am still relatively new to the Country, (and have not visited Québec yet), I might not be the best person to give you suggestions. I have also changed the title of your post for Hosts from Canada to notice this topic.
But I guess @Sheila667 fromQuébec might be able to guide you through your query and offer you some great insights for your trip!
Wishing you an awesome journey in advance 🎉
