We want to allow pets in our rental since we do want to take our furry friend with us sometime. However, my concern is larger pets could damage the place more by jumping on furnitures etc.
I see the size limit is 60lbs but that's like having a small pony in the house. I'm thinking 15-20lbs is where I'd be comfortable at. I've only listed for a few weeks and of all my reservations there's only 1 that's traveling with pets.
@Danny627 we have a small Labrador that weighs just less than 60lbs and I can assure you she is nowhere near the size of a horse.
Any dog will shed and small ones can often be more destructive than large so I wouldn't worry about the size limit.
Thank you for the assurance. Do you find any issues with hair all over your place when guest leaves? We have a Maltese mainly due to the fact that they don't shed and good for those with alergies.
Have you had guest checking in complaining about previous pets?
@Danny627 Because we have a dog and know how much they shed plus a cat and know how much they scratch things we do not allow pets. I don't think it would be possible to properly clean between guests if we had to deal with all the pet hair.
I am sure we lose bookings as a result but hope that people who want pet free accommodation are attracted to us.
Perhaps you want something that is too tricky to pull off: do allow pets but only of a certain size/type for it to work. Tall order, very tall order.
