Long-term guest brought keyboard-unannounced

Guest has not responded to texts requesting that we move it out of the bathroom.  The bedroom door has been closed for the last few days.
I respect every guest’s privacy, however, I would like the room to ventilated daily.  The guest is staying until  Nov.

Any suggestions?  The guest’s abrupt change in behavior is stressing us out.

@Jane472  I don't feel like I quite understand the situation here, but what I gather is: you're renting a room in your shared house, for a period of several months, to a guest who you're only able to communicate with by text message. You're sharing a bathroom, but this person has bizarrely placed a keyboard (musical? computer?) in the bathroom in such a way that you somehow aren't able to open a window or turn on a ventilator fan. And you're unsure whether the guest is currently alive because he or she hasn't opened the bedroom door for several days and shows no sign of life.

I feel like I've probably misunderstood something here, so maybe some more details would help!

But a couple points for now:

-  Try to keep the key points of your correspondence in the Airbnb messenger so that there is a record of your efforts to resolve the issue. This may become important in the event of a dispute.

- If a guest's personal items are left in what is understood to be a common/shared area of the flat, you have every right to move them out of your way. But I don't recommend entering a guest's privately rented space or touching its content without prior notification and a valid purpose. If the room you wish to be ventilated daily is a private space rather than a shared one, this should have been stipulated in the House Rules.

- November is half a year away. That's a long time to live with someone in your own home without being able to communicate for several days. If you have to open the bedroom door to verify that you don't have a corpse in there, it's imperative to do so. If the guest hasn't come home for several days, go to the police. Otherwise, I think it's critical that you make your expectations clear in direct dialogue, and provide the opening to terminate the booking with a full refund of the remainder of the stay if you're unable to reach a resolution.

@Jane472

Perhaps you can power up the keyboard and communicate with the guest solely through the medium of  music.

Start with '' Meet me in the bathroom'' by the Strokes to discuss 'permitted storage'

Then a few bars of Harry Nilsson's ''Open Your Window''

Hopefully you can have a frank discussion with your guest in order to sort out the problems before you consider playing ''Goodbye Stranger'' by Supertramp.
