Lying guest: how i was punished without completely informed of what i did.

First off ive been an Airbnb host for 7yrs, have had great success until now. I just had guest who was suppose to stay Dec 16-Jan 25. She left on the Jan 5th. Seems simple right? Not! The guest started out second day falling in a store after a seizure, hit her head and split it open. She had her dog with her I went to the hospital to pick up dog and check on her, then went back 4 hr later to  pick her up. This should tell you we were okay and everything was fine.

Her and ex hubby had retraining order against each other I was asked if I could take the dog to him, I agreed to, mistake I became the bad guy in her eyes even tho I didn't do any exchange or have any involvement. All the sudden  she tells Airbnb that she felt unsafe in my home, really??

Matthew with Airbnb safety ( not your, the guests) asked if I go in guests' rooms I said absolutely not! That was the end of the information Ihe asked. Meantime they blocked my ads and blocked my calender, took back the funds all before I even new about the complaint. Airbnb decided I was wrong she was right took 1/2 the funds back for her opened up my calender and gave me a ding on my account  More or less will be watching you.

I'm so sick of them siding with guest and giving you no way to to defend something they or the guest have to prove if something happened. Its all about the guest because that's who they make the big money from. You just can't win if you're a host with airbnb. I will nolonger interact with the guest. And everyone will sign a form when their to get their rooms cleaned etc.

I think it would be a shame if you change the whole way you operate your STR business because of one bad guest. @Joni--Johnny-0

airbnb do seem to be getting worse and worse from a host perspective in terms of how they handle false guest complaints

to give you some reassurance I've had over 300 sets of guests in nine years only two were ones I would not host again.

Hopefully you have a full record on Airbnb of the guest asking for you to take the dog to her ex and all other communications around her becoming ill.

It sounds like a horrible experience. @Joni--Johnny-0

I am not quite sure what the issue is? Did Airbnb suspend your listing because of the guest's false safety complaint. You haven't said why she said she felt uncomfortable in your home.

Personally I would want to get her out ASAP.

Yes I do have our conversation all saved.

Airbnb said they couldn't share with me her complaint because it was confidential, it was for her privacy

I found out she said I slammed open her door and screamed at her to pick up her dogs poop on my driveway. I text her and asked her to.

I gave proof, it didn't matter to them. I got dinged and she git some of her money back.

I am booking again 4 people 1 stay took care of the money I supposedly owed. Good lucky to her in life.
