Hi all! Not so long ago I started renting my apartment, everything was good, guests came and went happy (judging by the reviews). But recently something terrible happened! After another guest, when I came home, valuable things that were provided especially for guests were missing. I tried to contact the guest in every way possible, but from what I understand, the guest stole the items. There was a computer and 2 monitors, as well as peripherals. I have already interviewed all the neighbors and am going to go to the police. I also reported the incident to Airbnb. They have contacted me by e-mail from the special department for such problems, and they promised to answer within 72 hours, but today all the deadlines have passed, and I do not know what to do. Somehow I got an AIR Cover request open with no description of the problem, the names and costs of the items. Perhaps the case was opened by airbnb support. At this point no one has answered me for over a day and I am scared that no one will answer me, and time is ticking away and I do not know how to rent my apartment further, I have no opportunity to buy a new computer and monitors (by the way, I use all that in my work as a game designer and streamer), I can not work at my main job and I can not rent an already "simple" apartment, which lacks any uniqueness and authenticity. Maybe someone has encountered this problem? And maybe someone can reassure me by telling me about their experience. Thanks for the reply.

Please don't leave valuable /sentimental items open for guests to damage/steal.
you should have filed the police report as soon as your realised the quests stole and open a claim on the aurbnb guarantee and your home insurance for short term lets

Hey Mariana1047, have been hosting since 2017 and to be honest guests have never stolen anything from me and interesting I set the main commons with art pieces and variety of books.
however, since you’ve reported the issue to Airbnb that means the team is working on it together with the relevant parties involved. Might take a minute but I’m sure they’ll get to the bottom of it. Hope everything works out for ya.
