Hi, I’m currently hosting long term for the first time ever and they guests did not pay the second instalment. Airbnb seems to not do anything about it and this really puts me in trouble. I’m in another continent and the guests are taking advantage of this breach in the system by not paying the second instalment. Does any of you have an idea on how I could get myself out of this bad situation? I’m very disappointed in airbnb…
presumably you've already contacted the people staying and advised them they need to make payment today or they will need to leave @Caroline2980
If they haven't paid and haven't responded to your request for payment they aren't your guests anymore . Get your cohosts to over to the property and turf them out .
this is not Airbnb's fault but a risk you take by accepting longer term bookings on a platform you know collects payment for long term stays on a monthly basis .
Hi Helen,
Thanks for your message!
I’ve been hosting airbnb for the last 5 years and never did long term hosting. I had no idea there was this hole in the system! I thought I could count in airbnb as usu. Also these guests have been causing me trouble since the first day. They brought a cat to my place without my knowledge and I’m asthmatic and allergic to cats. I should have cancel them from the start but I was already abroad and super stressed out not to get the money to pay my rent. The airbnb support convinced me to keep the reservation up cause I could later ask for extra fees related to the cat. And now they are causing me trouble again by not paying!! This is such a nightmare! I never had this kind of guest before in 5 years hosting!!
