Hi, I recently booked through Airbnb, and my host is asking for an ID, a Selfie holding an ID, and credit card information, which I don't want to provide (I can provide my ID, but why credit card information). It's not safe. They can steal or do anything with my ID and credit card.

@Muhammad354 If it is not in the house rules then they are not allowed to demand this. Call Airbnb and ask for a full refund cancellation.

Hi @Muhammad354, Adding to Mike's comments, I wanted to share this Airbnb Help Article: Click here to view the article where there is a section that talks about : What a Host may ask you for the booking. Sharing the section here for your easy reference :
The Host may ask for ID upon check-in, if done in person and if the requirement is in the Host’s house rules at the time of booking or is required under applicable laws. Some regions have laws that require guests to register with local authorities. This can be done directly with the local authorities or at the accommodation on behalf of the authorities. Where this applies, the registration request may come from a bed and breakfast, hostel or hotel room, apartment listings or other accommodation listed on Airbnb.
It is tricky that the Host may be asking you to provide credit card information, did you reach out to the Customer Support to report or get more help in this instance?
Too nervous of a type of host. Who would want to stay in a place that feels like walking on pins & needles?
