do you offer access to Netflix in your listing? If so do you use your own account? Pay for another account? Make them sign in with THEIR account? I have a Netflix account myself and a ROKU I can hook up -- I just today got my first inquiry about Netflix in the unit. I'm wondering how others do it.
Do you use your own YouTube TV account?
@@a i have cable tv but also smart tvs. I have a full foxtel cable subscription which allows for multiple users but i dont have Netflix. I have noticed that various times Netflix is working on the tv so i assume some guests are forgetting to log out. I had assumed that when they login elsewhere it will cancil on my tv but not really sure
Hi, On Netflix I signed the user out but when I go back to login their email address shows. It remembers their email. How do I clear that completely?
Hello everyone,
I have a ROKU and it is the only way a guest can get to Netflix. My VISIO TV is an older model, so it doesn't have apps built in. Today I decided to put the ROKU in guest mode, now I am thinking that may not have been a good idea in case a guest doesn't have a ROKU account.
This is my 2nd summer with Airbnb, and I have not have any issues with guest using the ROKU or Netflix account. Like mentioned, a password is needed to purchase a movie, etc. Only once did I see a guest signed into their own Netflix account.
Does anyone else have a ROKU to get to Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc.
My location has very limited TV microwave/tower signal, so "free" local channels are sparse.
Putting a Roku device into guest mode is just a convenient feature that at a pre-selected date automatically logs off a temporary user from any streaming accounts they signed into. Your guests do not need a Roku account.
Thank you so much for your reply Debra.
I feel much better about turning on the guest mode remotely and knowing the guest does t need to have a Roku account.
the link you attached was also very helpful- I didn’t see all that information when I was logged on to my account earlier. It gives a broader picture on how that option works. It’s great, thank you! 🙂
I pay for a Netflix account that allows for 4 users.
I put a PIN on my own account and let guests use the others.
I have a TV service (with lots of channels and also the option to stream your Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.) as an add on to my WiFi, but I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of it as hardly any guests use it at all so it seems like a total waste of money. I do also have Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts (have also had Apple TV+ and Disney+) but no one ever asks to use these.
I find that most guests travel with their own devices and use these, rather than the TV, to watch stuff. They also usually have their own subscriptions to Netflix etc. Then again, I host mostly solo travellers, not families who want to watch stuff together on a TV.
