New booking accepted 12 nights starting today for 2 guests. Yesterday they messaged to say their 3 children will stay 7 of the nights.

I have no idea how to handle this.  They'll be here shortly and their message about the extra 3 people didn't show up on airbnb messaging until a couple hours ago.  Any suggestions? This guest has 2 previous stays but no reviews. In the 10 years I've been hosting this is a first.  Thanks so much!  Tami

@Tami1 send them a reservation change request changing guest numbers to 5. Alternatively up it to 4 to account for the shorter stay of the children

The problem I have changing the number of people in the reservation is  that I am unable to change it for only 7 of the 12 nights.  You already knew this was gonna happen I see, haha!       Adding an 1 extra guest fee for 12 nights would be $60 @ my $5 per extra guest fee.   Adding 3 extra guests for 7 nights is $105 but I can't change it for only 7 on the  airbnb platform.   I contact superhost support to get their input for  fair & honest solution.  Thank you!

Tami - first, will you be able to comfortably accommodate all of them? If not, I’d cancel & be sure to let Airbnb know (screenshot of the guests’ change). 
second, I’d definitely charge them extra (towels & linens, hot water, electric, etc.).

most importantly, my listing clearly states no unregistered guests, there’s accommodations for just 2, but extra charge for extra body (1 child only) …

We have added the info below  to our scheduled messages and in the listing description.  Our max is two people and we have had on occasion one or two more guests will show up.   When the guest doesn't reply to a message we send about another person in the cabin, we will drive over and knock on the door.  The message below has helped tremendously.  

Any guests beyond the number listed on your itinerary will be charged a fee of $50 per person per night. We reserve the right to terminate your stay without refund if you exceed the maximum occupancy of two guests.
