New host and no reviews so far despite having a few bookings already. How do I work on this?

Hi,

My family and I just started a little over 2 weeks ago and we luckily had a surge of bookings as soon as we went live which was very exciting. We've since had 2 sets of guests checked in and checked out but despite of me gently nudging for reviews and also proactively leaving them reviews already, we've received nothing back. Obviously, the Airbnb algorithm favors listings with reviews so now we don't appear until 8th or even further pages which probably explains the bookings has stopped. We have a few more confirmed bookings coming up but I'm worried that no one will review. How do I remedy this?

A second problem...one guest last night has been more than difficult. She knows the property is in a commercial district (lots of bars and restaurants) and she's threatened to call the cops because she said the noises are too loud and her and her Tinder date (yup...) can't sleep...she said she's reported us to Airbnb even I tried to deescalate and have offered her a 50% refund...I'm so worried that she's going to give us a really bad review (especially being our first review if she does leave one), is there any way I can fix this, too?

Sorry for so many questions, we are so new to this and totally did not expect this guest (our third one since we went live) to threatened to call the cops cuz of something we couldn't control!

Thank you for reading and for your guidance.

Tiffany

Hi @Little-Taipei-Home0 ,

After reading the posts in the community, it seems to be a common problem where guests don't leave a review after their stay.

We had a similar discussion on this thread 👉How to ask guests for reviews after their stay? 👈, where hosts @Greystone0 @Jean651 @Susan5609 @Beth90 @Kitty-and-Creek0 @Anika191 @C197 have shared many ideas. I am reaching out to them, if they can help you with insights on the other situations you have shared above. Thanks everyone in advance for your support!

Regards,
