HelloI have a female guest who will be checking in around 6 pm on 23 January 2025 but my friend has bought me a ticket for Sw...
The Weird Guest Award goes to....
Recent guest was wandering around in the yard barefoot and shirtless in his undies. I know this because the neighbor (who is a nurse) texted that she was concerned he was disoriented. We checked out the Ring camera and got a glimpse. Nope, he was just hanging out in his skivvies on a cold day. Big fellow. Maybe he was hot?
So left a review and read private feedback. Guest "stepped on something in the yard." So we should be "more mindful" of what is in the yard. Uh, its a wooded lot with a bunch of leaves, grass, twigs, etc. Our other guests wear shoes when navigating it...
Same guests left three bags of trash inside after a 2 day stay and then said that they saw ants.
Okay rant over.
"That's neither an extra guest nor a pet! He's my Emotional Support Nudist, and you're required to let him stay no-questions-asked!"
I'm all for it, as long as he stays in the yard and isn't left unattended.
@Sarah977 @Laura2592 And now here’s the other problem with barefoot outdoors types: I’m cleaning the space & there are twigs, leaves & dirt in every bed.
shoes are for outside, bare feet are for inside. When you mix the two then you might as well be a cretin sleeping in your work boots.
I live in the tropics- I'm barefoot all the time around my place. But I don't get in bed with dirty feet. @Kelly149
@Laura2592 What was the nighttime temp? I'd be inclined to wonder if the guest had put himself in an altered state where his body temp was raised, hence no shoes at night in the woods and no clothes.
People are truly crazy though, complaining about stepping on something in the yard when you were barefoot?? WTF?
Always expect the worst. As a much less interesting example, our last guest, who was very nice, was a local, as in lived in walking distance, and so we omitted our usual 'leave any perishable food items and we will dispose of' message, and as night follows day....we found half empty cartons of milk, half full cans of stuff thrown directly in the trash and full unopened packages of food...the exact reason we started leaving the message in the first place, but we reasoned if you can walk home, you will just take ALL the food w/you. Wrong again. LOL. No big deal but an example of never assume the guest is using the same logic as you do.
@Mark116 it wasn't at night-- it was in broad daylight. Lunch time-ish. I would be willing to bet there was a lot of drinking involved.
@Laura2592and he probably thought no one was about to see him.
Happens to many who think no one can see them where one expects reasonable privacy with state of un/dress in a home environment.
Think your probably right, I love to be nude when it’s hot and have stripped off to enjoy the sun before in an Airbnb if I believe that neighbours cannot see me

Well the clueless, blinkered or self-seeking, are a subtly different breed from the self absorbed, self-possessed and self righteous. They may or may not be self-actualised!
They may also just be silly &/or stupid! 😁
In that light, they may be socially inept. (but I’m not referring to those with medical conditions or anxiety)
"This guest was mostly acceptable, however, crossed some boundaries when we got reports from neighbors he was hanging out in the yard with no shirt, shoes and in underwear. Left quite a bit of trash behind as well, seems a hotel may be more suited for this guest's expectations. Sorry to hear about your foot - we find that wearing shoes in the wooded lot helps to not step on nature's bits. Unfortunately, pinecones and twigs clog our vacuum, so we've stopped vacuuming out there.
We get a bit of frolicking in the outdoor shower, @Laura2592 , according the farmer who works the field beside it. He's taciturn, with just a flat "yup" when asked.
I'm like you, sounds like. I do not care what my guests wear or do not wear on ordinary going. I would start caring if, like your Captain Underpants, they chastised me for not being mindful of the sticks on the ground. Sheesh.
@Laura2592 , "Things that make you go Huh?" Maybe you should share a screenshot of him in his skivvies and point out he's a tad underdressed for the nature of nature (twigs aside....)!
