Payment

Hello I am about to book an Airbnb for my friends and i. I have a cc but don’t want the full amount charged can I use different payment method for remainder of balance ?

You can do a split payment for eligible bookings but it needs to be on the same payment method @Briana130

@Briana130 not really Briana , if a host has agreed then sometimes ,part is paid at booking and part closer to arrival or sometimes in two parts but changing credit cards could leave you with no place to stay .If you are needing to collect money from others then I suggest you do that first. Ring Airbnb for full details before you book or you may have trouble getting your money back if you change your mind. There are policies about refunds on all homes , please check them out very carefully.. H

I am curious! How do you 'ring' Airbnb. Here in South Africa, there is absolutely NO WAY of reaching them for anything!! We have a situation where we cannot get hold of a guest at all, not via the portal, nor via mobile (number does not exist). 

We also have a situation whereby a guest messaged us to ask if they can pay the balance of their booking later but on the portal, it says the guest has paid in full? 

We have no way of communicating with Airbnb ever and it makes doing business with them very difficult.

@Michelle3873, Michelle are you set up on a desk top or just a phone ? There is a broader range of contact information via the desk top and certainly ways to contact airbnb and in fact to request a call back.If your guest is paid in full then that is the case. they cannot then request a partial payment from you as you would have to refund .sometimes if a booking is a long way out I would acceot partial payment but all payment should be made before the gusts arrival . Some guests may make partial payment and then cancel before arrival though.If your guest is not communicating through messaging or the mobile number then leave a message saying that they 'risk cancellation ' if they do not reply to messaging in a timely fashion as it is one of your rules which they had agreed to apon booking .. good luck but please become familiar with your desk top ....
