Policy for Mid-Stay Cancellation

Policy for Mid-Stay Cancellation

Hi, what is a common policy for mid-stay cancellation. I’ve only had one so far, but it’s hard to see half of anticipated income be taken away without being able to recoup costs with another booking.

Do other hosts have a specific policy that they share with potential guests?

The cancellation policy attached to a listing decides about a refund (if any) when guests cancels a reservation.

You can choose a more strict policy, if desired.

You can switch your listing to a Strict cancellation policy for more protection on longer stays.

With Airbnb’s long-term stay policy, if a guest cancels after check-in, they’ll receive a full refund of taxes, and you’ll still be paid 100% for the nights already spent plus the next 30 nights of the reservation.

If there are fewer than 30 nights remaining when they cancel, then you’ll be paid 100% for all remaining nights, while the guest only receives a prorated refund of taxes.

A lot of hosts with mid-term or longer stays use this because it helps protect income and gives some stability if a guest leaves unexpectedly.

Have you thought about implementing a strict cancellation policy, as hosts have mentioned?
