Price increase after I made reservation

I received a message today from the host that said that Airbnb was going to cancel my reservation because the pricing was too low.

This is for Paris next summer for the Olympics. I booked several months ago.

Airbnb called me and confirmed that the price needed to be increased, and I had the option of paying the host's increased price.

This is very unfortunate and a terrible way to do business.

@Pete4156 was the price stupidly low (ie a mistake) or just low because of the Olympics? If the latter then Airbnb has sunk to a new low.

$750 US per night.

At the time of booking (a few months ago), that was the mid range for pricing per night.

Now, there are very few places under $1,000 per night.

Olympics were announced years ago, so I would have assumed pricing was accurate.

AIRBnB is an olympic sponsor as well. 

Definitely a new low.
