Reassurance for guests to go ahead and book stays

Hi everyone,

I am very new to hosting on Airbnb and had just opened up my Guest Studio in February and then everything went sideways of course in March with Covid-19.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for adding a paragraph to the welcome page on listing to make guests feel comfortable with booking now.

My guest house is in Fernie, British Columbia and we get quite a lot of Albertans coming to enjoy our beautiful mountain town and all it has to offer.  I want to welcome cross border guests to my Guest Studio and make sure that they feel safe and confident doing so.  Also, to make them aware of my enhanced cleaning and sanitizing procedures.

Have any of you added to your listing descriptions with regard to these points?

Thanks!

Sher

@Sher1100  I don't think there's anything wrong with mentioning your cleaning protocol in the listing. But when people get to the stage of trip-planning where they're actively perusing Airbnb listings, they're likely to have already gotten past the apprehensions they may have had about traveling during a pandemic.

Hi @Sher1100, it's a totally valid question and I agree with @Sher1100 but I don't think there's any harm with adding some extra info to your listing because while they may be past the "fear to travel" stage, they may be more reassured in booking a listing that is promising and taking active measures to ensure their health and safety. We're based in the South of Spain and I personally browsed listings all over the world to see if hosts were changing the text of their listings. I found very few but I decided to include the word DISINFECTED in the title of each of our listings and I plan on adding a Covid-19 Update in the description to highlight the specific steps we're taking with check-ins and after every check-out. Hope my two cents helps. Best of luck...Rita

Thanks for your input Rita587.  Much appreciated!  I’ll add a couple of points to my listings. Fingers crossed that people are going to start travelling again soon!
