My girlfriend and I booked a room for 3 nights in Krabi, Thailand through AirBnb which turned out to be a hotel room, and the host works as an agent for them.
Unfortunately the room did not meet our expectations upon arrival, it was nothing like showed on the pictures, and there were other issues with the room like bad smell, stains on the bedding. When we checked the reviews of the hotel online, we found out that other guests complained about similar issues, so we decided to check out immediately, without spending a single night in the hotel.
We spoke with the hotel, they tried to contact the agent (AirBnb host) but unsuccessfully. They checked us out and told us to get in touch with the host directly. We did just that, the host asked to submit the refund request which we also did and the request was approved.
Now we have 2 issues:
1) We were only able to submit the refund request for 2 of 3 nights as we submitted it after the first night, even though we checked out the night before
2) MAINLY - The refund never arrived. It's already been a month. We requested the refund and it was approved on 27 December 2019. Today it is 26 January 2020.
The host has been unresponsive since then.
What are our options?
