Safety Concern as a Guest

I recently stayed as a Guest in a large Airbnb where we had a terrifying experience (and one that seems to have happened before with the Host, after reading some reviews on their other properties).


The Host ended up filming us through windows and doors using private security. The cops ended up coming and making the guy leave after about 3 hours. It was so bad that the City of Seattle is investigating, and to Airbnb's credit, they did de-activate the Host's listing, but have completely stonewalled us on any refund for the final night (it was ~$1,700/night), and instead said "you accepted the $300 sorry credit we gave you, you're out of luck."

 

Has anyone had similar experiences, and have you had any success with other methods, including small claims court?
