Safety issues in San Antonio

Hello fellow San Antonio Hosts

I recently had guests check in and out on the same day as the neighbors next door decided to start shooting guns off at 10 o’clock at night. I received a panic message from my guests and when I called to let them know that I called the police they requested a full refund and literally ran out of the house.
Of course I issued a full refund but my concern is that this will happen again.  This is not the first time these neighbors have fired shots. Are there any of you that are having similar issues with neighbors. The rest of the street (although some houses still a little run down) are all quiet respectful neighbors, who are equally concerned for their safety as well.

Would any of you be willing to join forces to set up a meeting with the local councilman? We make a lot of money for the city in HOT taxes and should get support for running our business. The police haven’t been much help as all they do is drive by well after the guns have gone inside.

That's too bad!  To get local hosts together, you should join or start an Airbnb Facebook page.

Have you looked into your local noise and maybe other related bylaws?

I have the San Antonio police department and Safety officers involved. I turned them in for code compliance on the property which is a total mess. But there is way more of an issue than noise here when there are live rounds being fired off 20 feet from the house.

Hi @Kimberly645 , I'm so sorry to hear about this. Like @M199  mentioned I'd suggest trying the local Host Clubs. You can find them here: https://community.withairbnb.com/t5/Get-Local/ct-p/en_clubs
