Separate key for room in shared apartment with host?

Hi, I am a new host, offering a room in my apartment with shared bathroom. All rooms have a key and possible to lock. Do I need to change lock in rental room or is it ok for host to have similar key to the room for access in emergency?

Nobody else than host and guest have key to front door or room.

I will use a safety-lock for the part of apartment not for access for guests while not at home.

Thanx for any advice in handeling keys inside flat 🙂

@Anette765 , As the Host you always have to have the ability to enter if an emergency  situation.

I  switched to keypad locks  then I  don't have to worry about key  issues.

Hi @Marie8425,

Thats true, I will probably do the same, keypad lock sounds so much smoother.

Thank you for responding! Wish you a wonderful day 🙂

@Anette765

I am still learning mine.  But I use Alarm and it lets me set up a code that only works for the dates reserved and tomorrow I have  a returning guest, I set a code for him and he will just let himself in which is nice,

Hello @Anette765

Hei, håper alt står bra til og velkommen til verden av Airbnb-verting!

I recommend installing smart door locks for the rooms, allowing guests to enjoy their privacy during their stays..

@Anette765 An additional requirement is to ensure that by locking doors you do not contravene fire regulations with respect to exiting the building when the front door or normal egress route is blocked

Thanx @Mike-And-Jane0 for reminding of this important issue, all good in my apartment for exit building 🙂

Wish you a wonderful day!
